This is an exceptional vintage Navajo Native American jewelry green turquoise and silver squash blossom necklace. This museum quality squash blossom necklace is a very rare earlier piece, most likely from the 30's or 40's. It is increidbly heavy and consists of very thick silver. The large thick silver naja pendant measures around 3-1/2" X 2-5/8". Resting throughout this necklace is a beautiful plethora of green turquoise stones that appear to be from the very old Royston turquoise mine, a total of 26 remarkable dome shaped stones. Resting throughout the entire necklace are hand wrought round silver beads with a traditional silver clasp. This piece is very rare as it is incredibly heavy and incredibly old. The necklace consists of wonderful heavy old natural patina. The silver works on the naja as well as on the 24 silver squashes are just impressive and astonishing. The average stone measures around 3/8" X 1/4". Sterling silver. Cir. 1930's/ 40's. The length of the necklace measures around 36". Sturdy 331 grams.
